Here & Now in Groningen is an online personal recommendation agenda that allows users to access all the diverse cultural, networking and sport events in Groningen. Here & Now lets one choose events based on their own preferences, genres or even international-friendliness.
The platform is a joint initiative of Gemeente Groningen, RUG, Hanze UAS, UMCG and Provincie Groningen, and was created combining the experiences of local internationals and cultural stakeholders.
Here & Now was created in response to the growing amount of internationals in the city and seeks to explore the benefits lying beyond proper integration and cultural exchange between the “stadjers” and the “newcomers” setting a landelijk and global example of using culture as a tool to approach internalization.
The project is also part of International Groningen program which was recently awarded a Good Practice City Label by URBACT; the European fund for integrated urban development.
